his caring comments and honest judgement of one’s playing always made me work harder. when he was in the concert room listening to me my playing was really put on trial because i so wanted to please him.
he was the biggest influence in my musical life!
Albert was the greatest mentor of my life. In my own 35 years of teaching and performing since I studied with him, I have drawn countless times from the well of his teaching and inspiration. I have never known a greater musician or a finer influence on my life and character.
